Shoshanna Ahart and Andreas Karlstetter present new paintings and drawings in their upcoming exhibition, Golden Autumn. Andreas Karlstetter will exhibit new paleontological reconstructions created during his artist residency this year at La Porte Peinte art center in France. Shoshanna Ahart will exhibit new autumn themed pastels from the Altmühltal and present her 2018 art calendar. Her pastel paintings for the Eichstaett Tierschutzverein (animal rescue organization) 2017 Christmas raffle will be previewed during the exhibition and tickets for the raffle can be purchased at the gallery.

Additionally, Ahart’s museum quality limited-edition Original-Fine-Art-Giclée-Prints from her pastel paintings will be on display. Her first Fine-Art-Giclée-Print was issued in June and is an Eichstaett motif. Her second print, which is from an original pastel created during her artist residency in France this year, was issued in September. Both prints are editions of 10. The prints are signed by the artist on the front and every print has a forgery safe hologram with a serial number issued by the Hahnemühle FineArt Company on the backside. A certificate of authenticity with further information and a matching hologram guarantees the uniqueness of each print.

The experience of “painting on location” or plein air painting is a compilation of the artist’s response to a place, as well as, the interaction of weather and atmosphere during the creative process. This experience cannot be achieved when painting from photographs. Shoshanna Ahart is a plein air painter. Join her as she travels to France and through the Atlmuehltal to capture a sense of place of her surroundings with chalk pastel.

 

Still Point Arts Magazine Showcases

Still Point

The American art and literature magazine, Still Point Arts Quarterly, will run a feature article about Shoshanna Ahart and her work entitled, “Chasing the Light” in their Spring 2017 issue. The article, which will include more than 10 images of her work is the award for winning Best in Show for Portfolio for the group of six landscape paintings she submitted to the magazine’s online juried exhibition, “The Simple Beauty of Nature” last year. Additionally, her pastel painting, Sunlight and Wisteria has been chosen for the cover of the spring 2017 issue. The national publication is available in both print and digital form. The issue will be sent to subscribers in late February and will be available nationwide through retailers March 1.
